Privacy Policy

YantrikDB and YantrikDB MCP Server are privacy-first tools. Your data stays on your machine.

Data Collection

YantrikDB stores only what you (or your AI agent) explicitly save via the remember tool. No implicit data collection, no telemetry, no analytics, no tracking.

Data Storage

All data is stored in a local SQLite database file on your filesystem. The default location is ~/.yantrikdb/memory.db, configurable via the YANTRIKDB_DB_PATH environment variable. You have full control over your data.

Embedding Model

YantrikDB MCP Server uses a local ONNX embedding model (all-MiniLM-L6-v2) for semantic search. Model files are downloaded once from Hugging Face Hub on first use, then cached locally. No text is sent to any remote service for embedding.

Network Communication

• Local mode (stdio): No network communication. Everything runs locally.
• Remote mode (SSE/HTTP): Data travels between your MCP client and your self-hosted YantrikDB server. No Anthropic, Google, or other third-party servers are involved.
• First-run model download: A one-time HTTPS request to Hugging Face Hub to download the embedding model (~80 MB). Can be pre-cached or disabled with HF_HUB_OFFLINE=1.

Third-Party Sharing

None. YantrikDB does not share, sell, or transmit your data to any third party under any circumstances.

Data Retention

Data persists in the local database until you explicitly delete it using the forget tool, or by deleting the database file. There is no automatic expiration or remote backup.

Children's Privacy

YantrikDB is a developer tool and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
